I like twitter and all, but Jaiku is double plus good because of the RSS feed ability and the commenting feature. Twitter could upgrade with all this kind of stuff, if they'd only take a hint.
I think twitter is aiming for the less is more approach and staying with a very focused set of needs. If Jaiku would get an IM interface going, I'd probably never go back :P
